Bazaar + Belazu Christmas Bundle Collaboration and My Best Belazu Ingredient Tips

I am so proud to introduce this little bundle of joy… The good people at Belazu and I have put our heads together and come up with this gift bundle which makes for the perfect gift for any food lover, this festive season. Not only will the recipient get a copy of my latest book Bazaar but it will paired with some of my favourite Belazu products that I love so much and have been using for nearly a decade.

I thought I would perhaps give you a few simple top tips on how you can use those ingredients at home without much faff or fuss, just so you can get stuck right in or even share the wisdom with the person you may gift the bundle to.

Belazu Arbequina Olive Oil – This is my favourite of the range and having harvested these hardy olives myself, I have even more love for this fantastic oil. I use it in everything from salads to dipping with bread, drizzling onto soups and stews and roasting vegetables too. Don’t forget it is fantastic in Hummus, dips and marinades to boot!

Belazu Rose Harissa – If you know me, you know I absolutely LOVE this stuff and no other brand in the world has even come close to the quality and authentic consistency of this wonderful paste. I use it in everything but here are some useful suggestions! Mix it with yogurt and lime juice and a little water to thin it down to make a wonderfully different salad dressing. Rub it all over beef, lamb, pork steaks, halloumi, paneer or tofu and pan-fry them. Stir a tablespoon into couscous or bulgar wheat salad for a wonderfully aromatic kick or, if you are weird like me, it goes really well with vanilla ice cream too.

Belazu Preserved Lemons – The most common feedback I get about these is that people love them but simply don’t know what to do with. Once you know, you will end up adding them to everything! They are a staple in my home and let me first clarify that you eat the WHOLE THING (except seeds) I sometimes see cooks on TV instructing people to discard the skin which makes me sad, use it all! I like to chop them up and add them to salads, sandwiches and wraps, soups, add them halved into stews, blitz them with harissa and use the marinade for a roast chicken or chicken wings or chop a few and pan fry some fish and toss the pieces in last-minute along with some butter and serve.

Belazu Barley Couscous – A wonderful alternative to the regular wheat couscous, somewhat lighter but incredibly delicious. I have long used this in my Supperclubs and catering and find it makes a fantastic addition to tabbouleh instead of bulgar wheat, I serve it with stews and sometimes spoon into a soup bowl before covering with soup. I love it as a salad, especially if you stir through some rose harissa, preserved lemons and some chopped herbs and nuts, it really is delicious and useful cupboard staple.

Belazu Tahini -  A recent addition to their wonderful range, I am a true fan and admit that there is no better Tahini on the market anywhere in this country. I’ve tried every single jar I’ve found, up and down the country and whilst most are OK, they really can’t compare to the flavour and most importantly, consistency of Belazu Tahini. Use it in Hummus, dips, to thicken soups and stews, drizzle over grilled aubergines and courgettes, over avocado toast and in brownies and cookie baking.

I hope my little guide helps you get the best out of this bundle! I loved getting to choose the ingredients to put it together and very much hope you’ll make it your gift of choice for others or indeed yourself, this festive season.
